If you are plagued by days of foggy thinking, lack of focus and concentration, or issues with memory loss, you may be suffering from brain fog. Otherwise known as Toxic Encephalopathy, brain fog is characterized by cognitive impairments to memory, attention, executive function, and the speed of cognitive processing. Though it is not considered a medical condition, it is often symptomatic of an underlying issue. Poor nutrition, illness, undiagnosed food sensitivities, or sleep deprivation can all be contributing factors to experiencing brain fog. Medical conditions associated with inflammation, exhaustion, hormonal fluctuations, or changes in blood glucose levels can also cause mental fatigue. Such conditions may include anemia, diabetes, arthritis, depression, lupus, hypothyroidism, and fibromyalgia.
Cognitive functioning can also be affected by environmental factors and lifestyle choices. Heavy metal poisoning is caused by the accumulation of certain metals in the body due to exposure through food, water, or industrial chemicals often found in household cleaning products. Toxic mold-based illness is another prevalent and vastly under-diagnosed condition that can manifest in many ways, including subdued intellectual functioning. Mold toxins can accumulate in the body, continuing to wreak havoc long after exposure has ceased.
Detoxification is about resting, cleansing, and nourishing the body from the inside out. It is achieved by removing impurities from the blood, in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin. However, when these systems are compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered, and the body is adversely affected.
A cellular detox is one of the most scientific ways available today to detoxify the entire body. This means cleansing the body at a cellular level. Our cells are like a processing plant. As we become toxic the cell walls, which are made up of a layer of fat, become inflamed. This cellular inflammation stops the good nutrients from entering the cell and the toxins from escaping. When this happens, our mitochondria don’t function as well and can result in experiencing symptoms, such as fatigue and brain fog. Our DNA can even become mutated, leading to chronic illness. The process of cellular detoxification is intended to increase the presence of key nutrients that support the removal of toxins within the cell to ultimately be expelled from the body altogether.
